Top 5 Video Game Characters We Wish We Could Have Killed

These characters were the reason that some games were hard or caused many a controller to be smashed to pieces. They either impeded our progress through their stupidity or laughed at our misfortune.

We couldn't ice them and we were bound by their lack of respect for out gaming experience. While these games wouldn't have been the same without these memorable characters, they were the cause of incredible irritation and aggravation - most notably in the form of the dreaded escort quests.

We usually don't want to baby sit stupid people in real life. Why would we want to do so in video games? In any event, here are the top 5 most annoying video game characters of all time.

5. Dog: duck hunt

We're going to go ahead and get this one out of the way. Yes, the dog was annoying. However, he was not an ever-present personality. If you did a good job, he kept his mouth shut. Presumably, the ducks never would have flown up in the first place without his help. However, games have been made where it is possible to take out this annoying pup. He laughed at us when we missed a duck (even if it was because the gun was broken and it wasn't really our fault). However, this dog gets a lot of unnecessary attention just because of his taunting laugh. Be honest, if you were out doing some casual duck hunting with your friends, you would be laughing as well when your friends missed their shots over and over again. He may be annoying - but he was our faithful companion and doesn't deserve his often lowest spot on top lists.

4. Natalya: Goldeneye 007

Boy oh boy. This chick defined what was awful about escort missions. She would step right in front of our assault rifles and take a few rounds to the head or charge right into a hail of enemy fire. Our only request for Natalya was that she took it easy and avoided putting herself in situations where she could be shot. All she had to do is fire off a few rounds from her revolver and slam her hands on a keyboard (the buttons must have been huge). However, she felt it necessary to make every mission in which she was a part annoying as possible. When you play a game as the legendary James Bond, you are not interested in watching out for a stupid character's well being. You want to blow your enemies away and sneak around the level taking out enemies with less than subtle efforts. However, Natalya was an annoying and complaining character that sometimes made our Goldeneye experience a little aggravating. Oh, and she sucked in multi-player too.

3. Navi: Ocarina of Time

She may have been pretty helpful. However, here constant nagging was apparent from the very beginning of the game. "Hey! Wake Up! Look!" It would take a hero of Hyrule not to slap this fairy with a fly swatter and go back to sleep. Oh, but this was just the beginning. Through the rest of the game, she would nag you to death by pointing out every little thing to you. If you were trying to sneak up on some unsuspecting enemies, she would assuredly give away your position in any real situation. No one could argue that she didn't help you out from time to time. However, her real annoying nature was in the repetitive nature of her nagging. She yelled the same things over and over again and here exact requests are likely burned into the memory of many Ocarina of time gamers. There were many annoying characters in this video game. However, Navi easily took the cake.

2. John Madden: Any Madden Video Game

Anyone who has played a Madden game is very familiar with the voice of this ultra annoying man. True to his form with real football games, Madden assisted us with only the most obvious of commentary or changed his mind based on the success or failure of risky plays. Most of Madden's commentary could be summed up as "See, what you need to do is get the football. Then you need to get it down the field." Thanks Madden. His most annoying presence was after the failure of a risky fourth down conversion. Maybe you trust your defense and need a couple of touchdowns to catch back up before the fourth quarter. Madden doesn't care. If you succeed, he'll say how brilliant you were. If you fail, Madden has the salt ready to tell you what a stupid play it was. It was unnecessary commentary and only served to make you even more frustrated after the famously BS catch up AI shattered your well played game.

1. Slippy: Star Fox

Slippy. No character in video game history was more incompetent than Slippy. He would charge into the fire fight only to be shot down moments later. He would grumble and complain about your actions then get his own butt iced by the first foe he confronted. Who gave a frog a pilot's license anyway? For the first time, many gamers began to wish that their ally was their enemy. It is suggested that the frog's technical expertise is crucial to every mission. However, we wished he would have just stayed behind the scenes and fix his ship. When he opened his mouth, it was to ask for frequent assistance or give Star Fox some obvious to the point of silly advice - just short of fire your gun and fly your plane.

Southern California Waterfowl hunters Please Answer?

I am new here in San Diego. (A transplant from Southwest Louisiana due to work) I am looking for good information on San Diego area waterfowling public lands, hunting clubs and random information regarding waterfowling in this area. I know there are a lot of people that will give answers that don't apply, please refrain, no offense. I also know the season is drawing to a close but any info would be great.

check online for areas around the salton sea, coachella valley and colorado river.
not really too far east of you. just a few hours.

there are a few local lakes that have special areas and hours for duck hunting but not being a regular duck hunter l'm afraid that is all the information l have to offer.

l believe lake elsinore is one of these. perhaps it's henshaw. check 'em out.

I have a mossberg 835 12 gauge. I have talked to some people who have said to use a full choke, but i have always used a modified. Which is better???

a full choke with bb shot in it will do the trick just fine.

Goose Repellent helps Keep Pesky Geese at Bay

Canada Geese are recognized by the “V” formation they create as they migrate in the spring and fall over North America. Up-close, they can be identified by their long black necks, a white “chin strap”, and brownish grey feathers.

Many people assume that Canada geese fly south in the fall to reach warmer climate, then return to nest in early spring. This behavior has changed over the years due to many variables, and Wildlife specialists are seeing more geese remain in one spot year round. Known as residential Geese, there are usually three common denominators that define their ideal location: a mild climate, food and water. Resident geese have been staking their claim on residential and commercial properties across the nation, leaving many property owners with one question, what can I do?

Geese are grazers, and lawns near water provide an excellent food source. Golf Courses, gardens, beaches, residential lawns, and parks are regularly becoming swamped with pesky Geese. Treating grass areas with a repellent is a good start to controlling a goose problem. If you take away the food source, the geese will have to move on.

Migrate turf Spray is a goose repellent used to prevent geese from grazing. The repellent is made of a non-toxic grape extract that has been used to repel geese and birds for ages. The extract, methyl anthranilate, is a food grade substance, approved by the FDA, also used in grape flavored candy and soda. When the repellent is applied to a lawn area, the grass will no longer be edible for geese; they will have to move on to a better location with a food source.

Beyond the Migrate Goose Repellent, there are also visual and audio products available to help deter pest geese. Visual deterrents include coyote decoys, balloons, and flash tape. These products work well when set up where the geese are entering a property.  If you have geese entering your lawn from a water area, the bank is ideal spot for placing such products. There are audio systems that can also be used to repel pest geese. The Goose Chase Sonic is an outdoor sound deterrent that plays a mixture of predator and distress calls. When the geese hear these calls, their natural instinct is to flee from the area. The Goose Chase Sonic is weatherproof, and can cover between 1-5 acres.

 Many wildlife specialists recommend using an integrated approach to deterring geese. That is, using a  goose repellent in addition to other products to try and appeal to different senses. Combining a few different methods will render the property undesirable to the Geese. If one method is used the geese may adapt, but taking away the crucial elements can bring you on step closer to a goose free property.
