I hate the sling that I have on my rifle. Being that I have long hair, even if I have it tied back, I always manage to pull my hair a lot when I'm out deer hunting or coyote hunting. I like leather slings, but they are very expensive. The sling I have is a plastic-y foam-y thing from Walmart.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance yall.
I've tired that, but I still manage, somehow for that to happen.
Gregg Andrews- Things are ok.. he made bond yesterday around 3 and came and got his stuff.. was more worried about the dang dog, but his loss, not mine. I'm still not going to put nothing by him. I have my shotgun loaded behind the front door and all doors are locked.
A great solution for a creative country girl would be to find an old saddle strap, or long reign, and fashion a sling just for you. If you have the skills, or know someone who does this would be a great way to go because it would be your own design and would suit you. The $20 sling mentioned by DJ sounds like a good 2nd choice.

I use a Browning 7mm Remington Mag out in Colorado on elk hunts. It has a stainless steel barrel and a fiberglass stock. I get really upset when a branch or my binoculars hit the stock and make noise. I would imagine the glare off the barrel would alert wildlife of my presence as well. I want something to put on the barrel and stock that will reduce glare and noise. Whatever the product is, it needs to be lightweight, will not build up moisture between itself and the gun, and can be removed easily. Anyone know of a product that fits my description?
Tall order. Why don't you just have your .7mm re-stocked? Or get a rifle sock and cut out the proper holes to fire, work the action n eject empties.
Good luck.

Americans have long been fascinated by the Upland South, a regional band of great natural beauty and a rich, archaic cultural landscape that runs from Virginia and North Carolina west through Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and their bordering states. Celebrated for its distinctive culture in the movie and soundtrack O Brother, Where Art Thou? and in enduring popular parodies such as the Beverly Hillbillies, Dukes of Hazard, and Mayberry R.F.D., the region is home to a way of life grounded in the singular character of its people. Tied to the land by a mixture of hardscrabble farming, free-range hill herding, hunting, gathering, and fishing, the region's inhabitants have perpetuated traditional handicrafts and passed on a complex folklore. They speak a distinct nasal dialect and compose and play a "mournful" genre of country music. Their adherence to an emotionally vigorous Calvinism does not stand in the way of their production of moonshine whiskey, and they bury their dead in graveyards that reflect a particular deathlore. In The Upland South, the geographer Terry Jordan-Bychkov explores the region's character through an analysis of its traditional cultural landscape. Seen through Jordan-Bychkov's eyes, the built environment and its artifacts--houses, barns, town plans, graveyards, church structure, fences, and the like-- reveal much about the nature and distribution of Upland South life and culture. The Upland South is an uplifting, informative, and richly illustrated book about a distinctive region in America. It is sure to be a welcome addition to the literature of the South, for scholars and general readers alike.
